1. Open Subscriptions > Configuration > Recurring Plans.
2. Select a monthly, yearly, or other plan.
3. Enable Has Free Trial.
4. Enter the Free Trial Days and save.
5. Confirm that the subscription product has a recurring rule using this plan.
6. Place a test web order and verify the next invoice date and saved payment method.

For a signed-in customer, Odoo tracks used trials by product and does not offer another trial for the same product. A public visitor can start the flow but must provide the customer and payment details needed for the subscription and its future charges.

Caution

Test the payment provider’s zero-value authorization before publishing. Without a valid payment token, the subscription cannot renew automatically after the trial.
