Interpret mailing results
Quick summary: Use delivery and engagement figures as signals, then inspect the audience and linked business outcome.
Review a sent mailing
Section titled “Review a sent mailing”- Open Email Marketing and select the sent mailing. Check the sending date and audience so you compare the correct campaign.
- Review received, opened, clicked, and bounced figures. Open a statistic where available to inspect the underlying recipients or links.
- Investigate delivery problems before sending again. Correct verified address errors and respect unsubscribe or blocklist status; do not reactivate recipients merely to improve the numbers.
- Compare campaigns with similar audiences and objectives. Consider the number of recipients as well as percentages.
- Use the findings to improve the next mailing’s audience, message, and links. Check linked sales or other campaign outcomes only when the relevant tracking and applications are configured.
An open is not proof that a person read the message: privacy tools can load tracking images automatically or block them. Link scanners can also affect clicks. A click does not prove a purchase, and a delivered message does not prove consent for future mailings.
Use mailing lists to manage the intended audience. Keep operational customer communication separate from a marketing subscription decision.
