  1. Open CRM > Sales > My Pipeline and search existing opportunities for the customer and subject before selecting New. Check filters if an expected record is missing.
  2. Enter a meaningful opportunity name, the customer or contact details, expected revenue, salesperson, and sales team. Record the need and intended decision date.
  3. If your organization uses leads, open the qualified lead and convert it to an opportunity, selecting the existing customer where possible. When leads are disabled, start directly with an opportunity; there is no conversion step.
  4. Move the opportunity to the stage that reflects the actual progress. A stage records progress but does not schedule the next action.
  5. Schedule an activity from the opportunity: choose the type, due date, responsible person, and a concrete summary such as “Confirm required delivery date”. Save it.
  6. After the call or meeting, mark the activity done with the outcome and schedule the next activity. Keep agreements in the record’s communication history so the team can continue the work.
  1. Open the qualified opportunity and click New Quotation when Sales is available. Select or create the correct customer if prompted.
  2. Complete the quotation-to-invoice workflow. Starting from the opportunity preserves the connection between the sales offer and the pipeline.
  3. After the deal is won under your employer’s criteria, return to the opportunity and click Won. Confirming a sales order does not automatically replace this CRM step.
  4. If the deal is lost, click Lost, select the actual reason, and record useful feedback. Lost opportunities are archived, preserving their history.
  5. To revisit a lost deal, find it using the Lost filter and restore it if appropriate, then set the current stage and next activity.

Each open opportunity has an owner, realistic stage, and next action; closed opportunities have an explicit outcome.

  • A won sale still appears open: check whether the opportunity was marked Won separately.
  • Opportunity disappeared: remove personal/team filters and inspect lost or archived records before creating another.
  • Quotation is not linked: check that it was created from the intended opportunity; ask the sales owner to correct a mistaken link.
  • Activity overdue: update its outcome or reschedule with an explanation; moving the opportunity between stages does not complete the activity.

For a weekly review, filter by team, inspect overdue activities and missing next steps, and update expected close dates. Change probability only to reflect a supported business assessment.
